weekend update

as usual, off friday...spent it hanging out with j since he was off as well...got the taxes from the cpa...had a friend and his wife over for a few cocktails...hopefully they will be moving to austin in the near future...did clay pit to go since we were not prepared for having folks for dinner...it is nice when happy hour runs all the way into the evening...got to chill with the great ed for a while and that was great!!! we should do that more often...then the troops...sans me...headed to longbranch for more...

up saturday sort of early...out to the Y near southwest parkway...riding ~9am...rode the two or so miles to SWP and then did two loops of the road out there...i didn't go all the way to mopac...i turned somewhere around st. andrews...then back up but not all the way to 71...about a mile or so after the turnaround for the 30k...all in all about 28 miles...ran a mile off the bike...that felt really good...no cold toes like the last run-off-the-bike...also had a super note from teambaraka stuck to my car when i got back :) that made my run even better...

did some homework on Molarity of solutions and felt like i actually understood what i was doing not just following the steps...picked up an amazing farm share...there was asparagus...ok only like 5 spears but they were really good...made chicken enchiladas with tomitillo sauce...and watched notes on a scandal...

sunday, up early for swimming and getting j off to pgh and out old haunt...the sunday swim clinic watched some videos while jeremiah and i were given a drill workout to do in an empty pool...woo woo own lane :)...we just finished our 900 when the group jumped in for another 100...out of the pool by 8.15...in running gear and we were off to the rock...

bumped into whyiron and one of his live journal buddies out on their long run...it is so nice to see him when i do...which is rare...makes me smile...he looks prepared...met chuck, jordan and cindy for the 10 mile loop...nice and easy...dropped jeremiah off at the 35 bridge (he's in a recovery week)...it was the first double digit run since the marathon...that was good...i took it super easy and did a "finish strong"...oh yeah and we also bumped into Dr. Z out on the trail too...

baked some peanut butter cupcakes with super dark chocolate ganache as a reward for my want of cupcakes...to have after a variation on kale and sausage pasta...both very yummy...now i am off to reward myself some more with an episode of desperate housewives...i <3 netflix...

Had a most excellent time running with you and the gang yesterday. Run felt great. Also my first double digit since the marathon. Looking forward to more runs and rides.
