bears birthday and random work

despite the bad news of the missing plants....j's birthday turned out to be very nice...a good sleep in followed by two pots of coffee and a big breakfast of farm egg omelets mine with the fake cheese and some crispy sweet/regular potatoes...yum...a few of the txfrogs dropped by on bikes and took j out for some late morning coffee...i finished up the homework and was out the door on a run...

decided to avoid all of the dowtown area as the cap 10k was/had happening(ed)...so i ran some of the familiar marathon course...up san jacinto to duval all the way to 45th then turned back around for a 7.75 mile out and back nice long run pace of 10min/miles...it was so humid it was hard to believe...i could have used twice the amount of water i had on me...so i re-hydrated a lot when i got home...

really just some more relaxing and cooking of the annual b-day lasagna in the afternoon...watched becoming jane (jane austin that is)...and had a (very small) slice of cheese cake...yum...i think he had a nice day...i sure did

today is catch-up day...as we are in the last week of swim clinic and the first week of cap tex training i am trying to figure out my training schedule for the next few weeks...yeah...still working on that...also (finally) put together a spreadsheet of races that i have done...and realized that i only started running seriously in late '06...as they say i have come a long way since then...

and trying to figure out my school schedule for next semester...no such luck with the classes on just two days...i have all days it looks like...i am also trying to get this nailed down so i can contact my professors soon to get tentative schedules...and try and make them understand that i am not going to be able to make it to class the day or two after IMAZ...hopefully they will understand...

finally put my 3m time into the pace calculator...kind fun to see where i am going to be running these next few weeks...time to pick up the pace!
