ok, ok i'll update :P

so since the two people i know who read the blog asked me when i was going to update i decided i better get back in the swing of things here and start keeping track of where i am and what i am doing...

the monday after the marathon i swam at big stacy pool just to get the blood flowing in the legs...one thing i can say is that i will never look at the streets in this town the same way after running the marathon...memories....took two Epsom salt baths to help get the ich out...three days later i still had some pain in my right foot so i decided like a big girl to go get it checked out...i was having trouble putting full pressure on the foot during push off...i called advanced rehab friday morning i was in the office two hours later learning all about how i am missing two ligaments in both of my feet (this is from years of rolling my ankles playing soccer)...so when the muscles in the legs that stabilize the feet get tired i have no back up system for support and my feet "get floppy" as Dr. W. liked to say and a wee muscle in my foot got irritated (swollen) thus lack of push...

he did some ART work on my leg, calf and foot...then on to some rehab exercises and some TP work and four sessions later i am totally cured of that little issue...doing rehab exercises for the next month or so to get my ankles strong to help out with the lack of ligaments...

so this may sound like i was out of the game for a while rest assured this was not the case...after my first session with Dr. W. i said so when can i run...he said this afternoon if you want... :) ...he got a big smile from me that day because i wasn't planning to go for my first run until the following week...

so a full week and a few days off the feet and on tuesday morning Jeremiah and i were back out there at barton springs going for a 20 minute run...uhh yeah that was hard...the first run after the marathon...my head was totally ready my legs were a bit on the cranky side...we did 10 minutes out and 10 back...the first 15 were not so great the last 5 i could feel my legs starting to get back in the swing of things...

monday (before this first run) Jeremiah and i started our swim clinic...i was totally nervous to start...it's like the first day of anything...i just didn't know what to expect...but it turned out that the coaches are great...pool is nice and not everyone is looking at you when you swim....they are too busy...like us...trying not to drown as the stroke gets taken totally apart...becomes very awkward...but some how at the end is graceful and efficient???!!!...we will see on that one...but i am totally learning a ton and i love being in the water...

a short run with amy on saturday...nice to be able to catch up...and hard that i don't see her on schedule twice every week since i am not in the PR group...sunday off...monday swim...monday's workout was in the wind and 40's (don't worry mom the pool is heated)...we kept moving...hot chocolate for recovery

tuesday...lifting at Gold's...did my first mini legs workout...just testing the waters...but all went well with that...time to add "real" weights back on the legs...

ran this morning...good run...calm pretty day...congress bridge loop on the town/ladybird lake trail...55minutes...my longest since AT&T...i'm in no rush to ramp that up...swim 30 min at Stacy in the afternoon as a study break (it was totally crowded!!! i am thinking since BS pool is closed for cleaning...and it was a beautiful afternoon in the 70's) since i had a Chem. exam tonight during swim clinic...which i totally schooled :) and am making up my swim clinic sunday morning with Paul's group...

one more exam in nutrition tomorrow and it's spring break...woo woo...i will be able to spend sometime getting my training calendar settled and figuring out the next 6-8months of racing...

i saw a gray fox (? is there such a thing...it was _not_ a cat) on the way home from my exam tonight...treated myself to a soy hot chocolate in celebration of a good exam...and hopefully a good nights rest...

oh yeah and tomorrow i am 30 eek!
