barton springs swim in the morning...on the schedule was a 45 minute non-stop swim...counting laps to get a distance...swam 2000 in 45m...i was happy with that...just took it nice and smooth...and guess what...i saw the turtle that shublog was taking about on sunday...totally covered in some type of green stuff...good for hiding :)
home to catch up on rest and fueling from the weekend...basically i felt like i ate, napped and read...oh i did run a few errands but it was pretty minor...anyway it was super hot again...
evening run workout was totally weird...football season is starting so there are all these little dudes on the field doing their football stuff...they seem so small to be playing but hey i guess i was 5 when i started playing soccer...but soccer is not football...unless you are from Europe...
15 minutes of core then we did two laps around the school which ended up being like a 13 minute warm up...then drills...then to the back side of the school to learn what our main set was going to be...it was a hill run from 12th and possum trot up to the school taking a left on that street (no idea the name) and stopping at the end of the block...maybe a 1/4 mile...but i really have no idea...and it was an all out run...100%....coach said "i expect you all to do one...but no more than 5"...i did two...the second slower than the first...but i really was putting it all out there...asked what the cool down was...and got a "you are training for a big race...i know you have one more"...grumble...and again it was slower...by 4 seconds...pesky...i worked hard and thought i did ok...again it was 104 degrees...so yeah it was tough...but overall a good workout..
